Triggers come in all shapes and sizes.

Pretty much anything can trigger us...even a single word.

The problem is our triggers have a firm hold on us until we clear them.

Here's why:

Hidden triggers can lurk within and hold you back.

Triggers can be quite tricky. Our triggers are stored and dormant within us--under the surface--limiting our capacity to show up solidly in our lives. We don't always know what will trigger us, but we know for sure when it happens!

They can be very intense and distract you for days.

When we are triggered, we are flooded with intense emotions. Often, this derails and distracts us for days. Instead of spending time on what most needs our focus, we find ourselves on an emotional rollercoaster...lashing out, freaking out, freezing or melting down.

You can take back control and strategically eliminate them.

By proactively and systematically clearing our triggers (BEFORE we are triggered), we're able to trust ourselves more fully, knowing we can show up steady and solid in the spaces and conversations where we are needed most...without being rattled, shaken or triggered.

You can clear your triggers in a few minutes each day and show up more steady and solid in every way.

Important Note: Triggers come in all shapes and sizes. When using the word 'trigger' here, we are referring to more mild triggers that lead to what may best be described as an emotional over-reaction. We are not talking about triggers related to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). If you are experiencing triggers related to PTSD, please seek help by a trained professional.

What's this all about?

What's this "trigger stuff" all about?

Ever feel triggered by the mere mention of a particular word?  I know I do!

Words carry subjective bias.  Which means that when I say the word "anger", one person may instantly feel a tenseness in their body and a judgement rise up inside them that anger is bad.  Another person may simply think to themselves that anger is a normal emotion that gets people to take action.  Same word, completely different response!

When something gets under our skin and really ruffles our feathers, I call this a trigger.  I'm not talking about the kind of trigger associated with post traumatic stress disorder, but rather, a strong, negative emotional and/or physical response—or even what some may consider to be an over-reaction—to a particular situation, circumstance or yes…even just a word.

Anything can be triggering: a comment on social media, a conversation with your mom, watching the news, something your partner does.

When triggering occurs, one incident (even a seemingly tiny one) causes something deep within you to roar up to the surface. When all of that intense emotion, comes crashing through your body, the tendency is to lash out in some way or completely retreat (i.e. fight or flight)…neither of which is very productive or helpful.

You might believe that this is simply a part of life and that there is little we can do to free ourselves from being triggered. This is simply not true, and here's where our work together begins.

The thing is, once we clear the emotion and energy behind a particular trigger, the trigger loses its hold on us. When there isn't an intense emotional response, we are able to show up very differently in the world.

Since they are no longer high-jacked by intense emotions, we have all of our resources and skills available to us. We can show up calmly and peacefully, and speak with a clarity and wisdom that powerfully (and lovingly) shifts the situation and our experience of it.

When we consistently work to not only become aware of our triggers but also set the intention to release their debilitating hold on us, we also raise our good vibes and begin healing ourself and others.

People from all over the world visit this page daily to clear any triggers connected to the word of the day. Anyone is welcome to do this by checking in here.

Hello, I'm Deana Welch, creator of Self-Healing School.

I help people heal themselves and transform their lives with energy work. This page is one of the ways I do that.

Everyday, people from all over the world come here to clear their triggers and raise their good vibes...just by doing 3 simple steps here. (How does it work? Well, energy is cool like that.)

Disconnecting and clearing up our triggers, frees us from the hold our emotions and anxiety can have on us and increases our capacity to show up solidly in our lives, speaking with a clarity and wisdom that promotes peace and positive change.

How often should I do this?

There is a new word to clear every day, which means you can clear 7 trigger words each week.

You can listen to the energy session video as often as you'd like each day, but once or twice is generally enough.

What results can I expect?

That all depends on you and your intentions going into this work, but let’s be real!

If you're reading this, you're wanting something to change...even if you aren't quite sure what that is.

People who consistently clear their triggers report the following results most often:

  • experience more emotional stability
  • no longer feel like their life is spinning out of control
  • no longer immediately over-react and are now able to take the time to process what they think and feel before addressing the issue
  • become better listeners with greater empathy for another's perspective
  • are better able to calmly and clearly speak their truth
  • no longer feel at the mercy of their emotions
  • increased awareness about the triggering process and how it impacts their life
  • noticeably less moody and grumpy
  • have better days and are "set off" less and less by the people in their life and on social media

Is this right for me?

Only you can know that for sure. But, I can tell you this:

When we clear the emotion and energy behind a particular trigger, the trigger loses its hold on us. When there isn't an intense emotional response, we are able to show up very differently--and much more positively--in the world.

Since we are no longer able to be triggered in the same way and high-jacked by intense emotions, we have all of our resources and skills available to us.

I'm ready to get started. What do I do next?

To clear today's trigger, check in here. It takes less than 10 minutes start to finish.

Remember, you can come back to this page everyday to check in and clear a new trigger word.

Why do I have to check in each time?

Checking in with your email address each time you clear a trigger is important for two reasons.

First, it allows Deana to know who to include in the energy session.

Second, it makes the process an intentional one. By coming to this page every day and entering your email address, you are being intentional about going through the 3 steps and clearing the trigger word of the day. Intention is everything when it comes to this work.

What is a 'free association' and why do I need to write down the first word that pops into my head?

In this video, Deana walks you through the process of choosing the two words you need for each trigger energy session...and why it's sometimes super, duper weird.

[Spoiler Alert: Trust whatever comes up.]

A free association exercise is when someone says a word and then you respond with the first word that pops into your head.

Sometimes, the word that pops into your head may surprise you. It may not make sense to you. It might seem silly, embarrassing, unconnected or wrong.

It's not! The less we judge the first word that pops into our mind, the more deeply we can identify and remove the trigger.

The free association exercise is a VERY important part of this process because it helps us locate the emotional trigger attached to the word. Once you have the trigger word AND the first word that pops into your head, you can check in and watch the video which will unhook the emotional charge and thus, the trigger.

Will I be added to your email list?

Yes, when you check in at step 1, you will be added to an email list that sends out one email each week. This email will be brief, containing the trigger words for that week and a few optional resources to explore.

You will not be added to my main email list which means you won't receive any emails about the other great stuff going on at Self-Healing School. If you would like to be added to that list and gain access to my most popular free trainings, you can join us here.

Can I invite people to do this?

Absolutely. This is designed to be 100% free and available to anyone interested.

Feel free to share our posts on social media or copy/paste this link: https://www.selfhealingschool.com/p/triggercheckin

Why is this free?

The answer is simple: It's one of the ways I am able to deliberately and gratefully give back

I love that everyday people from all over the world can come here to release their triggers and raise their good vibes so that everyone around them benefits.

When you check in, you are able to participate with no strings attached. You aren't bombarded with emails. I won't try to sell you anything. You'll simply receive one email from me each week listing the daily trigger words that you can clear here and a few optional resources.

But, just because this is free doesn't mean that it isn't 100% effective. You can come here everyday for fast and powerful energy work...on par with what my VIP clients receive when they work with me.

If you love this and want to go deeper with more energy work, you are welcome to check out the free trainings and online programs at Self-Healing School.

Why have I never heard of ‘energy work’ before?

If it seems too good to be true (or downright weird and impossible!), I get it. I was pretty apprehensive about energy work when I first discovered it, too.

I grew up having NO idea what any of this ‘energy stuff’ was. When I did catch wind of it, I wanted to stay as far away as possible.

Why? The words "Energy Work" triggered fear within me. Plus, things feel scary when we don’t know much about them.

What I discovered, though, is that energy work is about as scary as, well, grass…or lollipops.

In a nutshell, energy work is about becoming aware of who you truly are in your body, mind and soul so that you can line up with with your true life's purpose and live the life you came here to enjoy.

It’s about connecting you back with who you came here to be before the world got in the way (Hey...nobody leaves childhood unscathed!).

It’s about finally getting off that confusing emotional rollercoaster and gaining clarity and awareness about what feels right to you and what doesn’t.

Then, dissolving and releasing the emotional baggage and negative thoughts you’ve been carrying with you since you were a kid, so you can experience a purpose filled life of joy and freedom.

If you’ve ever laid awake at night with your thoughts flying or trying to figure out why things aren’t going the way you’d like them to, you understand how long it takes and how hard and frustrating it can be to slog through life on brain power alone.

With energy work, we now have a short cut to bypass the limits of our thinking and enter the energy of the subconscious. Here, we can quickly get to the root of any issue and unplug the energy patterns creating the problems keeping us up at night.

You can experience energy work by checking in here and watching the short video. You can also get my most popular free trainings here.

What if I miss a day? Can I go back and clear the word from a different day?

No. Each day, the energetic structures are set for you to clear ONLY the trigger word for that day.

If you miss a day, no worries! There is a good reason for that. Perhaps it wasn't the ideal time. Perhaps there was another trigger word that needed to be cleared first. Set the intention that everything is happening for your Highest Good here and then trust that it is.

Some words may be used multiple times. Some words may only be used once. If you're wanting to go deeper with clearing not only individual words, but also limiting beliefs and more, join the Facebook® group or check out some of the other energy sessions and programs at Self-Healing School.

I don't think I got an email from you. Am I supposed to?

Yes, you will get one email each week that contains the trigger words to be cleared. This email will be from Deana Welch + Self-Healing School.

Sometimes, this email will end up in your spam folder or under your 'promotions' tab. If you use Gmail, be sure to drag the email to your inbox tab so you'll see it.

If you don't find an email, you can still check in here everyday to clear a new trigger word.
